Compressor Fridge 40L — 12/24V (56×45×52 cm)

The 40L is the most compact fridge of the range: 51 × 39 cm on the face, a −12 °C freezer compartment and 25 W on average. Native 12/24 V, with a removable aluminium trim frame for a clean cabinet finish.

Choosing the right size

Check your recess before you order (H × W):

• With the trim frame — 56.3 × 44.6 cm on the face. The frame covers the edges of the cut-out for a clean finish.
• Without the frame — 51 × 39 cm. It saves 5 cm in height and in width.
• Depth — the cabinet is 36.3 cm deep, and the compressor sits behind it at the bottom, adding 16 cm: allow 52.3 cm at floor level, plus room for air to circulate.
• The door opens to the left, with the hinges on the right, and it is not reversible.

💡 Good to know: the freezer compartment holds −12 °C — enough for frozen food bought on the road, not for three weeks of supplies. For a true −18 °C freezer on its own setting and a reversible door, the 50L DCR is only 38 cm wide. See also the 50L SVR.

Power and wiring

Straight to the 12 V or 24 V distribution box, no inverter. It draws 25 W on average — about 2 A on a 12 V circuit, or roughly 50 Ah over a full day. The 45 W on the label is the compressor's maximum, reached only while it pulls the cabinet down to temperature. To run it on a campsite socket, add our 230V to 12V adapter.

Frequently asked questions

Does the freezer reach −18 °C?
No, the freezer compartment holds −12 °C. For −18 °C with its own setting, take the 50L DCR.

Can I change the side of the door?
No. The door opens to the left, with the hinges on the right. Check this before you fix your layout.

Can it run on 230 V?
Not directly: it is a native 12/24 V fridge, which is what makes it efficient on a leisure battery. On a campsite socket, plug it in through our 230V to 12V adapter.

How much battery does it use?
About 50 Ah a day on 12 V. A 100 Ah lithium battery with a solar panel keeps it running comfortably.

Is it approved for a campervan conversion?
Yes — CE and ECE R10 (electromagnetic compatibility for vehicles), certificate supplied, accepted for conversion approval in the UK (VCA) and across Europe (e.g. VASP in France, TÜV in Germany, ITV in Spain).

What should I check before switching it on?
After delivery, let it stand upright for 2 to 4 hours before powering it on, so the refrigerant settles.
