The MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe is the reference powered roof vent for campervans, and it is the fan most people compare ours to. Both it and the VANVENT 3.0 drop into the same 400 × 400 mm roof cut-out, both run a 10-speed fan in either direction, and both keep ventilating with the dome closed — so the choice comes down to a handful of real differences.

Where the VANVENT 3.0 is the better buy
- Everything is in the box. LED ceiling light, blackout blind and fly screen come as standard, so one opening gives you air, light and blackout without buying anything else.
- Radio remote instead of infrared. About 30 m and through a partition, so it works from the bed or the cab — an infrared remote has to see the unit.
- Brushless motor. No brushes to wear, which is what lets it run quietly for long periods at low speed.
- Longer cover. Three years of warranty and spare parts available for five.
Where the MaxxFan Deluxe is the better buy
- Raw airflow. MaxxAir publishes over 900 CFM. If you want the fastest possible air change above a shower or a galley, that is hard to beat.
- Thicker and thinner roofs. It takes 22 to 90 mm of roof; the VANVENT takes 27 to 80 mm.
- Spares anywhere. It has been sold for years in every market, so a replacement dome or motor is easy to find second-hand as well as new.
If you are replacing an existing 40 × 40 vent
- Both units fit the standard 400 × 400 mm opening, so you do not cut the roof again.
- The VANVENT outer flange measures 450 × 593 mm, which covers the marks left by an older vent of the same size.
- You will need Sikaflex 552 AT adhesive-sealant, and Sika 831E butyl on a corrugated roof.
Have a look at both ranges
- VANVENT 3.0 — in grey, black or white.
- All our campervan roof vents — 28 × 28, 36 × 36 and 40 × 40.
- Light rather than airflow: campervan skylights.
