Additional information
Additional information
The VANVENT 3.0 BLACK is a 400 × 400 mm powered roof vent: brushless 12 V fan, 10 speeds, thermostat and a radio remote. The dome stays sealed, so it keeps ventilating while you drive and while it rains.
Choosing the right size and model
- The VANVENT fits the standard 400 × 400 mm cut-out; its 450 × 593 mm outer flange covers the marks left by an older vent of the same size. It is a direct swap for most existing 40 × 40 vents.
- Roof thickness: 27 to 80 mm.
Choose your colour
- Grey (smoked): smoked dome that reduces daylight and heat
- Black (this page): for black roof racks and dark-wrapped vans
- White: blends into a white factory roof
The three are identical mechanically and electrically: same fan, same frame, same electronics.

Frequently asked questions
Is it road legal?
Yes — ECE R43. It can be fitted without manufacturer approval and is accepted for conversion approval across Europe (e.g. VASP in France, TÜV in Germany, ITV in Spain), in the UK (DVLA, MOT) and in Switzerland (MFK).
Can I use it in the rain?
Yes. Ventilation keeps working with the lid closed — air circulates, humidity and condensation are pushed out, and the rain stays outside.
Can I run it while driving?
Yes. The dome is sealed and stays closed, so the fan can run at motorway speed.
Will it fit my existing roof opening?
If your opening is 400 × 400 mm and your roof is 27 to 80 mm thick, yes.
Can I run it on 24 V?
Yes, with a 24 V → 12 V converter.
