Power and wiring

Straight to the 12 V or 24 V distribution box, no inverter. It draws 25 to 30 W in real use — a little over 2 A on a 12 V circuit, or roughly 50 to 60 Ah over a full day. The 57 W on the label is the compressor's maximum, reached only while it pulls the cabinet down to temperature.

Choosing within the range

• SVR — the low-consumption model, in the same format as the Dometic and Carbest fridges it replaces
• DCR — separate temperature control for the fridge and the freezer
• BCD — matt black finish

On volume: the 75L DCR holds about the same in a shorter cabinet and adds a second temperature setting. Take the 76 L for the bigger freezer and the after-the-fact door reversal.

Which side should the door open?

Unusually, you do not have to decide now: the hinges can be moved from one side to the other once the fridge is in place. Start with the door opening away from where you stand, and change it later if the layout moves.
