AF/Armaflex tape is what turns a set of insulation panels into a continuous vapour barrier. It is made of the same closed-cell foam as the rolls, so the joint insulates like the rest of the wall.
How much tape do I need?
- About one roll per 5 m² of Armaflex laid.
- 30 m² of foam — 6 rolls. 36 m² — 7 rolls. 42 m² — 8 rolls.
Why it matters
- It closes the cold bridges. Every uncovered joint between two panels is a path for humid air to reach the cold metal behind the insulation.
- It prevents the rust you would not see. Condensation forming behind the foam attacks the bodywork from the inside, years before anything shows.
- It is the same material. Closed-cell AF foam, 3 mm thick, not an aluminium or fabric tape.

What you will need: Armaflex Cleaner to degrease the surface first, and a roller to press the tape down.

How do I lay it? On a clean, dry surface, without pulling on the roll — stretched tape loses both its grip and its insulating value. Press it down along the whole length.
Can I use ordinary aluminium tape instead? It will close the joint but it will not insulate it, so the joint stays a cold line across the panel. A question or a doubt? Our technical team will answer you.
